At ShadeTree Counseling, LLC, I offer mental health services free of bias to all.
I serve the following populations: individuals, adolescents ages 16 to 19, all adults. I also provide pre-marital, and parenting counseling. I help identify thought processes and behavioral issues that impede a satisfying life and relationships. I focus our treatment on trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Our hours of operation are from Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. We are closed on most holidays.


At ShadeTree Counseling, I employ research-based techniques to treat trauma, anxiety, and depression. I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to work with the conscious mind, identify negative thoughts, cognitive distortions, and erroneous core beliefs affecting client's mental health.
I use Mindfulness and Self- Hypnosis to work with negative subconscious processes, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help with traumatic memories. I also employ somatic techniques to help integrate the body and teach self-regulation as I treat mental health conditions.
Treatment Techniques
Specific techniques will be utilized to tailor the client's specific need and interest as I know that what works for one person may not necessarily work for all. I provide caring and compassionate services and earnestly put forward my best effort to help our clients.
My goal is to help people recognize their strengths, inner power, and resources to overcome mental health obstacles to living an effective, balanced, and joyful life.

Parenting entails not the pursuit of perfection, but rather the responsibility to offer children optimal opportunities for growth across physical, social, emotional, and intellectual domains. It involves creating supportive, nurturing, safe, and stable environments that foster acceptance, a sense of belonging, and secure attachments for healthy development.
Adverse childhood experiences, often referred to as ACEs, are potentially traumatic events that occur during childhood and early adolescence. These events can include various forms of abuse, neglect, and household challenges that disrupt a child's sense of safety and well-being. Research over the past few decades has shown a clear and powerful link between the adversities faced in a child’s early years and negative health and social outcomes later in life.
In the United States, approximately 34.8 million children aged 1-17 have experienced at least one adverse childhood experience (ACE). The ACE studies, which involved 17,000 adults, found that many reported experiencing trauma during childhood, including emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, as well as household challenges such as parental separation or divorce, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental illness, or the incarceration of a parent or family member. Research has shown that adverse childhood experiences can impact long-term health outcomes. Educating parents about these dynamics, prevention strategies, early intervention, and trauma-informed care may help lessen the associated medical, mental health, and societal challenges linked to these experiences.

Depression is a mood disorder that may include a persistent feeling of sadness, loss of interest, fatigue, and isolation. It affects how you feel, think, and behave, and may lead to various emotional, physical and relationship problems.

Depressive Disorder
A mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life.
Possible causes include a combination of biological, psychological, and social distress. Increasingly, research suggests these factors may cause changes in brain function, including the altered activity of certain neural circuits in the brain.
The persistent feeling of sadness or loss of interest that characterizes depression can lead to a range of behavioral and physical symptoms. These may include changes in sleep, appetite, energy level, concentration, daily behavior, or self-esteem. Depression can also be associated with thoughts of suicide.
Treatment
The mainstay of treatment is usually medication, talk therapy, or a combination of the two. Increasingly, research suggests these treatments may normalize brain changes associated with depression.
